Praying with St. Thomas Aquinas

After reading a new part of the Summa Theologica (found here ) we join in prayer with the words of St. Thomas Aquinas:

Grant me, O God, merciful
to wish fervently that you approve,
research with prudence,
to recognize it in truth,
to do it perfectly, to the praise and glory of your name.
Put order in my life,
let me know what you want me to do,
grant to carry it out as it should be
and how it is useful to the salvation of my soul.
That I walk towards you, Lord,
following a safe route, straight, viable
and capable of leading to the goal,
a road that does not get lost among the well-being or between difficulties.
What I will give thanks when things go well,
and keep your patience in adversity,
not exalt me \u200b\u200bin prosperity
and without going down in the hardest moments.
What I am tired of all joy when you are not present,
you do not want anything except you.
Any work to be done for you I will be pleasing, Lord,
and unbearable without you any rest.
Give me often to ask my heart to you,
and when I give in to weakness,
ago 'that recognizes my guilt with pain,
and with the firm intention to correct me.
Lord, my God,
give me a heart alert, curious thought that no drag me away from you;
a noble heart which no unworthy affection degradation;
heart right that no unequivocal intention to mislead;
a heart that still withstand adversity;
a free heart that none can subdue violent passion.
Grant me, O Lord my God,
intelligence that you know,
a zeal that you're looking for,
a wisdom that you are ,
a life that you like,
a perseverance that we wait with confidence,
and a trust that eventually came to possess.
